Mike Hertzog -

        

     Musical instruments that Mike gives lessons on include the Banjo, Guitar, Mandolin and Bass. He teaches at Meadowood Music, 8521 Allentown Pike, Blandon, Pa. 19510. 

     Mike & his wife Linda, have been performing as a duo for many years. Known simply as "Mike & Linda Hertzog. Their musical styles range from Bluegrass Country, Gospel and oldies, .They also perform songs in the Pennsylvania German dialect if requested to do so, to keep that tradition alive. The Pennsylvania German New Year Wish is occasionally done by Mike & Linda at private homes and many churches. In October 2017 Mike & Linda were invited to do 4 concerts in Germany.  All the songs were sung in German. They also do a lot of Gospel music throughout the year during church services and at church picnics. September 2018 Mike & Linda had the privilege to do a live radio broadcast in Crewe, Virginia at the legendary W.S.V.S. radio station. That is the same radio station where Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs did some of their broadcasting and recording.

     Mike has been playing country and bluegrass music for over 50 years. Former bands he performed in were "Far From The City " and The Blue Mountain Gang".  Mike's 5-string banjo and guitar playing and Linda's solid bass fiddle keeping the beat  will be thoroughly entertaining.

      Over the years Mike has had the opportunity to  play many venues including the Main Stage, IBMA Fan Fest Owensboro, KY; Mountaineer Opry House, Milton WV; The Capital Theater, Chambersburg Pa; Musicfest, Bethlehem Pa; Central Pa Festival of the Arts, State College, Pa; Sunset Park, Oxfort Pa; Godfrey Daniels, Bethlehem Pa; and The Keswick Theater, Glenside Pa. Bluegrass Festivals include: Mountain Springs, Windgap, Lebanon Valley, Northampton, Klines's Grove, Ontelaunee Park, Echoes From The Hills, Pa; Buck's Bluegrass Ranch, Md; Peninsula, De; and Lyons Fiddle Festival. A few fairs are: Kempton, Reading, Schuylkill County, Kutztown and Northhampton Street Fair, Walnutport Canal Days and The Kutztown Folk Festival. Temple Fire Company Carnival, Longswamp Twp. Community Days, Heemet Fescht, Pike Twp. Sportsman's Club in Boyertown and Scenic River Days in Reading, Pa. Live radio station performances: WBYO, WDVR, The Heartlands Hayride and WEEU's Community Cafe. Mike Hertzog and the Blue Mountain Gang have often opened shows for legends such as The Osborne Brothers, Jimmy Martin, Larry Sparks, Little Roy Lewis and the Lewis Family, Jeff and Sherry Easter, The Boys from Indiana, Connie Smith, Marty Raybon and Shenandoah and Mike Snider.
